Pricing Transparency

It’s important to me that you are aware in advance of what to expect when you reach out for a quote. Many photographers choose to keep their pricing hidden, which can lead to disappointment and confusion. I hope that this page is able to help avoid that. 

Some sessions can be booked directly below, where you can see the current pricing. For other, more complex photography requests, please use the information below as a guide to help you understand how much hiring Two Roos Photography may cost.

Pricing Transparency

  • Generally speaking, you can expect to be charged around $250 per hour of photography. You can use that rate to do the math, based on the amount of hours of coverage you need, to help you estimate what your quote may be.

  • Quotes for pricing vary and may shift from this depending on a number of factors including but not limited to:

    • location

    • type of event or session

    • editing time required

    • prep-work required

    • working with an assistant or second shooter etc.

  • Any time I am paid, my actual take-home pay is 50% of the total amount. 

    Over time I have learnt that this amount is what’s required to be able to maintain the costs of running my business, as described below.

    As an example scenario, an hour long boudoir session will require roughly five hours of work. If the session is $250 and my take home pay is $125, my own personal hourly rate is $25/hour

  • The full amount you pay is used in many ways:

    • To the photographer as their take home pay

    • To second photographers or assistants

    • Studio rental fees

    • Taxes

    • Insurance

    • Accounting

    • Banking fees

    • Editing program subscriptions

    • Advertising

    • Website and website hosting

    • Business management programs

    • Scheduling program

    • Gas & Parking

    • Electronics such as laptop, hard drives, SD cards

    • camera bodies

    • lenses

    • lighting

    • Tripods

    • hard drives

    • City Hall Weddings/Civil Ceremonies: starts at $250.

    • Joey Package: $1300. Includes 5 hours of coverage, one photographer.

    • Skippy Package: $2000. Includes 8 hours of coverage, one photographer.

    • Wallaby Package: $3200. Includes 8 hours of coverage, two photographers.

    • Red Roo Package: $4850. Includes 12 hours of coverage, two photographers and a FREE engagement session!

    Engagement sessions can be added on to any package at a discounted rate.

    A budget option is available, by shooting your wedding using film simulations; thus reducing editing time and therefore the total price. Please inquire if this is something you’re interested in.

    Depending on the scope of your accommodation, you may be asked to provide proof of income or your previous years’ Notice of Assessment prior to our agreement.
